Racing Summary
DATE PROFILE/COMMENTS
March 27th:
Entered for
Musselburgh
5f Maiden
  • Solid price for DSL sale and for the sire.
  • By repatriated sire who has a moderate record with 2yos overall but ok for 5-6f minor winners.
  • Sire can get early runners but poor record with debut runs and runners tend to develop after early season.
  • Dam a maiden but ran in Group 3 5f at 2yo but disappointing and has produced two poor runners who sold less well than this one.
  • Reviewed at sales and rated 65, with heavy build on a smallish frame. Neat and athletic and ok for a neat, early sprinter.
  • Trainer does not target FTO wins but has had a debut winner with his first runner in 2003 (in this race at 6/1) and 2004 (14/1). They were both useful to superior types. Normal debuts rate between 50 to 64 for average to useful winners.
  • Trainer has debuted six 2yos in the two early races at this course, one won on debut but 5 of them were winners in the season. Two rated 80+ later in their year. The performance on debut was a good indicator of the quality of the 2yo.
  • In summary a good sign that she is entered this early by the trainer so ought to be a winner of some sort in the season. On pedigree and sales review she is unlikely to be above average and probably rate in range 50-60 on debut. Profile [58]

    5f Maiden -
    POST RACE
  • Drifted from 3/1 to 11/2.
  • On brief TV evidence she looked to have some build to develop from this run. She was switched to the outside to challenge and probably would have run closer to the pre-race profile without this.
  • A trainer debut run rating over 50 is usually indicative of a runner with the ability to develop into a winner during the season. Estimate [51]
  • April 8th: Won Southwell
    5f Auction Fillies'
  • Was a comfortable winner in the fastest time of three 5f races at the course within  days.  Estimate [66]
  • April 15th: Thirsk
    Fillies' Novice
  • Trainer has had three STO wins from fillies in the last 10 days. This runner showed the best form of the three on debut and STO. She has the profile to rate just over 70 as an early, ready sprinter.
  • Penalised 2lb for her previous win.  Profile [73 - 2 = 71]
  • April 29th: Nottingham
    5f Novice
  • Ran a solid race at Thirsk without improving and beaten by a bigger filly on the soft ground.  Estimate [66]
  • Penalised 4lb for her earlier win and lacks scope to develop. Profile [65]
  • April 29th:  Nottingham
    Post Race
  • Has looked a fairly easy 2yo to classify being smallish but a neat and ready type (as she looked at the sales). She seems straightforward and runs consistently although her limitations means she has been beaten by bigger and better types in her last two runs now.
  • A reasonably strong 11/8f carrying her 4lb penalty with the other winner penalised 8lb and the third favourite having run poorly on debut.
  • Ran her typical race and and broke best at the start and settled tracking the leader for a length and half at halfway. Made a little progress on the leader as she made an effort as the race quickened inside 2f out. However she never threatened the leader and stalled late on and lost second to Glenmuir who had been a little outpaced. Can find a little improvement but seems to have mostly shown us what she can do.   Profile [65]
  • May 11th: York
    5f Novice
  • Penalised 2lb for her win and should run her normal race.  Profile [66 + 2 = 68]
  • June 15th: York
    5f Group 2 Fillies'
  • 7/1 at Yotk in May on soft ground. Given an agreesive ride and set a solid pace in the conditions. Led by more than a length at halfway and kept on well until fading in the last half furlong when the outpaced runners close. The favourite travelled well behind her but faded again on soft ground as he had on debut and looking like a non stayer. THis left her just needing to beat the moderate Soto.  Estimate [68]
  • A good competitor at her level but has looked well below this class. The trainer has run similar types in the race recently and well beaten. Interesting to see her here because Lake Hero has contested the better races so far. Profile [72]
