April 13th: Declared for Beverley 5f Auction	Sold for reasonable price at the Doncaster sales. By a second season sire who made an average start in 2004 with a limited number of 2yos. Got winners at 5f but they were from May onwards. Dam was a 5f 2yo in Ireland and has produced sprint 2yos rating up to 80 at best although those were with her early foals. Trainer has poor 2yo record, debuts usually competent but at low level, gets occasional placed debuts in weak races including in early season. He has had one uncompetitive debut so far in 2005. Trainer got the winner of a division of this race in 2002 but probably only rated in the 40s to wins. Trainer runs two and his wife rides this one. In summary the pedigree of a minor 5-6f 2yo but the dam's record has tailed off after a solid start. Trainer's runners tend to be competent on debut then not progress. Penalised 2lb for sales price. May 2nd: Newcastle 5f Auction	Broke slowly and lost a couple of lengths at Beverley. 5 lengths off the solid pace at halfway but travelled ok. Kept on in the last 2f for a remote fourth without ever getting into the race. Ran slightly above expectations at 66/1. Estimate [58] Trainer's runners tend not to progress and did not show real 5f pace on the stiff Beverley course. Topweight in this auction race and penalised 4lb. Profile [63 - 4 = 59]
