Made a good price at the Doncaster St Leger sales.
Third season sire made excellent start in 2003 with 2yos with a lot of
winners and plenty of quality. 2004 was a real step back with less
runners and just 7 average to moderate winners. 2005 likely to be closer
to 2004 than 2003.
Sire ok for 6f but winners tend to be from May onwards and has a poor debut
win record.
Dam has a mixed pedigree and unraced. She has produced 3 poor to moderate
runners so far.
Major trainer does not target debut wins but tend to get a lot of places
because of the quality of his 2yos as a group. The better 2yos can win
FTO on natural competence and he gets odd debut wins in weaker races. He
has shown all these traits in 2005 with 6 debut wins from 21 debuts.
Trainer is in good form with 6 wins in the last 8 days including two on
debut.
He has used this race to moderate to average types for major/Stud owners

Non runner at Goodwood yesterday where heavy rain had turned the ground
to GS. Trainer had debut winner at Newmarket yesterday. Profile

Quite strongly backed to 11/4f from 11/2 3rd favourite in a strongish race.
Tracked an average pace to halfway from fourth witht he field close together.
Race quickened from 2f out and no response from her and lost ground as
the better 4 fillies went away. Showed inexperience and jockey accepted
position in 5th in the last furlong. [64]
An acceptable debut in a tougher maiden than it looked. Three of the first
four have run in Listed races since (unsuccessfully) and the 6th has placed
