  • Made a good price at the Doncaster St Leger sales helped by the performances of the previous 2yo from the dam for the same trainer.
  • Reviewed at the sales and rated 79 and an above average chance of being a 2yo winner. Just above medium size and build. Deep and wide in front but a little lengthy and lighter behind. Did not look a speed type and better for 7f+.
  • By second season sire who made a good start with 2yos in 2004 with a solid number of winners and notable for some good quality types. Got 6f winners and runners tended to be better from May onwards.  He has had his first 2005 winner with a 6f runner on debut after the early 5f runners competed moderately.  That winner has won a listed race 3TO.
  • Dam has a good record overall and had produced three 2yo winners with two of them above average. Perversely her two most expensive yearlings have proved to be moderate types. Her latest foal was a rare debut winner for the trainer rating 70+ FTO (August).
  • Trainer used to be assistant to R Hannon and is developing his own style since he started in 2001. He tends not to target strong debuts except with particular runners. These tend to lead to shorter SPs (8/1 or less compared to 10/1+ normally).  
  • He has had eight poor to moderate debuts in 2005 and has not really got going with the 2yos. The few STO runs have not shown improvement. However, the latest debut last week ran a good third and the first hint of better form.
  • In summary looked more a 7f+ type at the sales although likely to be able to rate 70+.  Would need to be well above average to win FTO for this trainer (as her half sister did in 2004).  Profile [64]
