Racing Summary
DATE PROFILE/COMMENTS
June 11th: Doncaster
6f Maiden
  • Made a solid price at the sales and at the high end for the trainer.
  • Reviewed at the sales and rated 70. Average size and well above average build, especially in front. In proportion and deep in front. An above average chance of being a 2yo winner.
  • By sire with a very good and consistent record with 2yos. Gets early, precocious sprinters and good record with debut runners. Solid percentage of useful+ 2yos. Notable for runners having better record on GF+ going.
  • Sire has had three winners this season on firmer ground (plus one heavily built 2yo that failed on very firm ground).
  • Dam an average 6f 2yo winner. She has produced 4 winners including two useful 6f 2yos.
  • Third runner of the season for a consistent trainer who served part of his apprenticeship with M Prescott. Normally runs around 10 2yos each season and gets a couple of winners. He does not strongly target 2yo racing and most will run to 3TO at most. The earliest batch of debuts will be the most precocious 2yos but will include runners of varying ability.
  • He targets a maiden win in the first 3 runs and better runners may steps up to better races after a win. He does not target strong debuts and 2yos with ability will usually improve 14lb+ from debut.
  • 2004 was untypical with a generally moderate group and only one winner and a modest strike rate. His one win came at 16/1 for a FTO filly in a moderate maiden. She showed the usual improvement from debut. FTO SP shows little correlation with FTO performance nor overall ability.
  • He had his first two debuts yesterday that finished 6th & 7th at 25/1 and 40/1 in moderate to average fillies' maidens.
  • Trainer used the course last year to introduce his best 2yo (only winner in 2004 and won on debut in a moderate fillies' race). Only filly against colts here.
  • In summary a good prefigure to produce a 2yo winner and sales review suggests she can rate 70+ in the season. If she's a little above average might well make the first 4 at a longer SP.  Profile [58 + 5 = 63]
