Racing Summary
DATE PROFILE/COMMENTS
March 19th: Entered for -
Lingfield 5f (AW)
Conditions Race (D1)
  • Owner bred by C. Shankland who provided the trainer's second earliest runner and best 2yo in 2004.
  • By sire who made good start as a First Season Sire in 2002 with quality sprint 2yos. Has produced winners, but of lesser quality in 2003-4 from smaller crops. Can produce early 5f winners.
  • Dam unraced and had produced on very moderate runner.
  • Trainer does not normally target debut wins and most FTO runs are well below final rating (for example Justaquestion for the same owner in 2004 finished 7th in the Brocklesby 30lbs+ below final rating).
  • However, note that in 2003 with a new batch of cheap 2yos he did get some ready to place on debut but went back to his normal easier debut runs in 2004. Watch for any change in 2005.
  • In summary the sire is going to have to provide most of the 5f zip, quality and precocity. Trainer unlikely to have the runner ready to be competitive on debut. Profile [43]
  • March 20th: Post Race
  • Finished 8th at 50/1 outsider carrying the owner's second colours.
  • Notably short versus lengthy type but sit some build but probably 50s rating at best.
  • Showed inexperience in race losing ground and hanging on the bend to straight but beat the other two poor types including the owner's first string (who carried 2lb overweight).
  • Estimate [32]
  • April 5th: Declared for
    Southwell AW Auction
  • The runners that she finished with and behind at Lingfield on debut have proved themselves to be a poor group. One of them has managed to win two poor sellers by beating similar types but otherwise they have been well beaten in a variety of races.
  • Some improvement expected and although her paddock rating was poor it wasn't less than the range required to place here if at her best. Profile [43]
  • April 26th: Warwick
    5f Seller
  • 11/2 3rd favourite at Southwell but showed a poor fade after traking the pace to halfway.  Estimate [34]
  • Drops to a seller and back to turf after not seeing the race out at Southwell.  Profile [36]
  • May 24th: Lingfield
5f Aw Maiden - DIV II
  • 10/1 and pressed the pace for 4F in a seller LTO before fading in the last furlong. Estimate [24]
  • Ought to be outclassed even in this moderate race on the form shown.  Profile [39]
