  • Made a solid price at the Tattersalls Ireland sales and good in the context of the dam side of his pedigree.
  • Sire has a very good record with 2yos and ok for producing 6f and precocious runners. He has already had 4 winners in 2005 over 5-6f.
  • Dam was a reasonably cheap sales buy and won a seller at 2yo and was bought for 13.5k at the subsequent auction. She won a handicap off OR51 at 3yo. She is related to mostly minor winners other than a US Grade 3 winner (won at 2yo here) by the underrated sire Aragon.
  • Trainer has good record with 2yos but used to target STO wins and debuts were normally competent while leaving room for good improvement STO.
  • He used only to get debut winners with runners in Italy. However in 2003-4 he had 5 debut winners although some of those seemed to be 'accidents' whereby the natural competence of his debut runners was enough to win weak races. 
  • In 2005 he has shown the same trait with the first 5 debuts to May 17th including 3 winners and one second place. $ of those five have won so far. The next three debuts have been less natural 2yos and have been unplaced and mostly at longer SPs.
  • In summary a solid pedigree, better on the sire side and ok for 6f. On the evidence of the trainer's last three seasons if he has ability he'll compete well FTO. A shorter SP (e.g. less than 7/1 would be a positive). Profile [69]
