May 19th: Doncaster 6f Auction	Made just a solid price at the Doncaster breeze-up sales and a reasonable increase from the yearling price. Sire has a poor record with 2yos and 2003-4 were moderate for both number of winners and quality. He has not had a 5f 2yo winner in Britain and has not had a 6f winner here in the last two seasons. He has only had one winner before the end of May. He had a 5f winner 2 days ago but with notable help from the dam. Dam is quite well bred but has a notably stout pedigree. Trainer does not target FTO wins and early debuts have not been competitive. His five debuts in 2005 have been similar although the delayed debut of Getbuzzin was backed in a muddling race. In 2004 he had a breeze-up buy for the same owner who must count as an important one for a young trainer in only his second season in 2004. That 2yo - Rubyanne - made her debut in a Novice race on May 24th and was 5/1. She lost 8 lengths at the start but got back in touch before fading in the last furlong in a tough race. She showed only minor progress in two later runs suggesting she was more forward than his average debut. Trainer has a debut runner for the same owner - Scotchman - earlier today in a Newcastle Novice. In summary the pedigree looks a negative for 6f and likely to need the debut. Profile [60 + 3 = 63]
