May 11th: Newcastle 6f Maiden	Made a lowish to middling price at Doncaster St Leger sales. Reviewed at sales and rated 62 and a lowish chance of being a competitive as a 2yo winner. Medium size and build although leggy and lighter behind and likely to need 7f. First season sire won over 5f in May as a 2yo and was a 6f Group 2 winner later in that season. Made below average impression at the sales. Two moderate debut for the sire in 2005. Old dam has mixed speed/middle distance pedigree and won over 8f at 2yo. She has produced three sprint 2yo winners but no winner since her 1996 foal. Trainer has been putting an increasing emphasis on 2yos in 2002-4. He does not target FTO wins and did not have a FTO winner between 1994 to 2004. In 2003-4 he has had a debut winner in each season but both have rated 30lbs or more below their best for their debut win. He has had three poor debut runners in 2005.
