  • Made a high price for the Doncaster St Leger sales. Probably improved by the perfomances of her half sister Siena Gold in 2004. The highest price made by one of the dam's foals.
  • Reviewed at the sales and rated 74. Medium size but with a heavy build although physically immature at the sales. She looked an ok type and competitive at 2yo but the price looked a little high.
  • First season sire (FSS) has made a solid start in 2005 with his 5f runners. He has had 3 winners, inclduing at Listed level, from 21 runners and a number of other placers. He has had more runners than any other FSS.
  • 2 of the 21 runners have won on debut and 7 others have placed.
  • Dam was a useful sprint 2yo and has a good record in producing competitive sprinters. Most have been at a moderate level but she has sprinkled in two 90+ rated 2yo winners.
  • Major trainer does not target debut wins and those he gets are usually with superior types and more likely later in the season. However, his first 2yo winner of the season has won in the last 2 seasons although the other earlier debuts have been more typical. 
  • This is the fifth 2yo runner of the season following a debut 4th (backed to 4/1) at York last week; a winner at Newbury (backed to 5/1) and two unplaced debuts in the last week.  
  • The trainer ran two fillies in 2002 and the 33/1 second string Pearl Dance (who was notably small but a very good mover) won and went on to place at Royal Ascot. The first string had to go to Redcar to win a maiden. In the last two seasons he has had unplaced fillies at typical SPs for his debut runners whether useful or not.
