  • Made a solid price at the Tattersalls Part 2 sales and better than the previous yearlings fromt he dam.
  • Stoutly bred sire has a moderate record with 2yos and most wins are over 7-8f in late season. Earlier debuts tend to be by better types who still improve for 7f later or poor physical types that need to run early to compete. 
  • The race is limited to 2yos by sires who won over 12f+. Thesire has three runners in the race, two on debut plus his only previous runner this year.
  • Dam won over 7f at 3yo and has produced a similar winner in Italy. Her latest two foals have shown improved form for longer distances at 3yo.
  • Trainer has good record with 2yos but used to target STO wins and debuts were normally competent while leaving room for good improvement STO.  
  • He used only to get debut winners with runners in Italy. However in 2003-4 he had 5 debut winners although some of those seemed to be 'accidents' whereby the natural competence of his debut runners was enough to win weak races. 
  • This is is eighth debut of the season. One of the early debuts won a weak race and another won STO. The next three debuts included two winners. One drifted from 7/1 to 11/1 and the other was a supported favourite in weaker race.  The last three debuts has been uncompetitive.
  • In summary a stout pedigree but the sire can get 7f winners in mid season with better types. Trainer has his runners ready to compete on debut if they have ability.  Profile [76 + 2 = 78]
