May 11th: York 5f Novice	Made high price at the Goffs sales, slightly more than his full brother who made one tailed-off run in June as a 2yo in 2004. Third season sire made excellent start in 2003 with 2yos with a lot of winners and plenty of quality. 2004 was a real step back with less runners and just 7 average to moderate winners. 2005 likely to be closer to 2004 than 2003. Sire ok for 5f but winners tend to be from May onwards and has a poor debut win record. The dam has produced a full brother who ran only once in June last year. She has produced a variety of mostly minor winners in France and usually over longer distances at 3yo. Trainer does not target FTO wins although runners are usually competent on debut and make the first 6 places in appropriate races. The earliest debuts in the season tend to be the 2yos winners (of varying ability) for the stable during the season. His one debut so far in 2005 has been uncompetitive. He has not run a 2yos at this meeting in his two seasons with a licence and not run a better type at the course. In summary likely to be an average+ type at least for a reliable trainer.
