June 30th: Newbury 6f Maiden Fillies'	Made a lowish price at the Tattersalls Part 2 sales and a regular cheaper buy for the 'Goodwood Racecourse' partnership. Reviewed at the sales and rated 64 with a slightly below average chance of being a 2yo winner at her level. Just below medium size and average build and mostly in proportion although a scratchy mover.. Minor sire has had a solid start to the season with 5 individual 5-6f winners from an increased number of runners. Dam well related to middle distance runners and stayer was unraced. She has produced two winners and mostly moderate to average placers. Trainer's overall strategy is to win a maiden in the first 3 runs and then step better runners up to Conditions races or higher. He does not target FTO wins and the ones he get are usually with superior runners and occasionally with average types in weak races. His runners are usually at, or above, average fitness on debut and it is usually their lack of mental sharpness and the trainer's requirement that they do not have hard races that limits their FTO performance. He has run 11 on debut so far with 1 winner and 2 places and close to his usual average. SP has been a mixed indicator of what is expected with the FTO winner at 16/1 (despite carrying the owner's first colours) and the 4 that started at less than 10/1 producing the two places but also two poor runs. Trainer runs two in the race with I. Mongan riding this one (who rode his FTO winner here) and J. Murtagh on Rosinka. Debut runners for this partnership owner seem to have been more forward than his average in the last three years with two places and one 5th of 17. Profile [60]
