Racing Summary
DATE PROFILE/COMMENTS
April 26th: Bath
5f Auction
  • Made lowish price at Tattersalls part 2 sales.
  • Reviewed at sales and rated 66 but was small and lengthy and with a lighter build behind. She looked to need 6f+ and therefore received a low rating to be a competitive 2yo because of this.
  • Second season sire who showed more speed as a 2yo than his pedigree promised (trained by M Channon who is notable for getting 5-6f wins with 'pedigrees' that other trainers would not).
  • Made a below average start with his 2yos in 2004 with only 7 winners and no real quality. The wins covered the range 5.7f (uphill) to 10f and he had no 5f winner. He did not have a winner before June 30th (trained by his old friend M Channon) which was at 7f.
  • Sire has had two minor 5f winners so far in 2005 in non 'speed' 5f races.
  • Old dam has not produced a winner since her 1997 foal.
  • Trainer does not normally target debut wins and most FTO runs are well below final rating. He has had three moderate debut runs so far in 2005.
  • Trainer runs three in the race all are cheap fillies off bottom weight.
  • In summary likely to be a development run for a filly that needs 6f+. Profile [42]
  • May 10th: Yarmouth
    6f Auction
  • 50/1 on debut at Bath and did best of his trainer's three runners in the race. Never got into the race and more than 4 lengths behind the leaders at halfway and plugging on and making minor progress to finish 9th of 18.  Estimate [41]
  • The trainer seems to have gone back to developing 2yos over several runs as he did before 2003. This filly steps up to a more suitable 6f after that 5f debut. Solid improvement from debut.  Profile [53 + 3 = 56]
  • May 28th: Goodwood
    6f Auction
  • 20/1 at Yarmouth on GS but an uncompetitive run. Never got into a race with an average pace.  Estimate [30]
  • Trainer has gone back to developing runners with racing but has not had a winner in 2005 and has only run moderate types that have shown limited development. Has prospects to rate higher. Watch for improvement here.  Profile [50 + 10 = 60]
