Racing Summary
DATE PROFILE/COMMENTS
March 26th: Entered for -
Kempton 5f
Maiden - (D2)
  • Bred by the Equine Fertility Unit so a successful practical session, well done. Probably didn't go through the sales.
  • By rarely used sire that has had only a single 2yo run in 2002-4.
  • Dam has moderate pedigree and showed poor form.
  • Trainer has entered three and this looks the third ranked on profile.
  • Trainer gets runners ready and competent on debut but some evidence they aren't as finely tuned on debut in last two seasons.
  • In summary a moderate profile and it would be surprising if he were chosen to run in the race.  Profile [44]
  • April 21st: Beverley
    5f Claimer
  • Did not run at Kempton and this is his debut. Carries joint topweight in this claimer and gives up to 19lbs to the lower weighted runners.
  • The stable's normal 5lb apprentice will ride this one despite there being a Bath meeting on where the trainer has runners including in the 2yo claimer.
  • Trainer is in slightly better form and this one has had nearly 4 weeks break from when first entered. Slightly raise profile.  Profile [49]
  • May 3rd: Bath
    5f Maiden
  • 7/1 in a poor claimer on debut. Broke left-handed from stall 1 on the outside at Beverley and hung away to the stands' rail. Showed some ability at a very low level to get close to the back of the group by halfway before a strong fade.  Estimate [1]
  • Showed little on debut although had an excuse. However that was a far weaker race than this one and little was expected of him there. Profile [36]
  • May 15th: Ripon
    6f Maiden
  • 66/1 at Bath with the usual 5lb apprentice. The ground was very soft and the bulk of the field went far side. Drawn 2 and made a good start and ran widest up the centre of the course. Got an easy lead and 3 lengths 'for free'. Still led by 2L+ at halfway and kept on to be a close third. However, the race was run in the slowest time for 5f at the course for years and a number of runners did not stay on the bad ground. Estimate [47]
  • Steps to 6f after an apparently much improved run LTO. That form should not be read literally and was run in a very slow time. Minor improvement.  Profile [54]
