Racing Summary
DATE PROFILE/COMMENTS
May 12th: York
6f Maiden
  • Made a solid price at Doncaster St Leger sales.
  • By a good sire with a notably good 2yo winner to runner record. Gets winners at range of distances but solid record at 5-6f and can also get early runners and FTO winners. He has already had three good 5f winners in 2005.
  • Dam was a 9-10f 3yo winner in France. She has produced two winners over longer distances of average quality at best.
  • Trainer does not target FTO wins but has had a debut winner with his first runner in 2003 (6/1) and 2004 (14/1). They were both useful to superior types. Normal debuts rate between 50 to 64 for average to useful winners. He has had one surprise FTO winner (drifted from 10/1 to 20/1) so far in 2005. The debuts overall in 2005 have been up to the usual standard with the later winners so far rating close to 50.
  • Trainer had two debuts at the meeting in 2004 who both finished midfield at long SPs.
  • In summary likely to be a development run for a 2yo needing 7f+. Profile [60]
  • May 27th: Wolverhampton
    6f Maiden
  • 20/1 on debut in a strongish maiden on soft where a number of runners did not perform well on the ground. Settled 3rd early and travelling well. 2L off the average pace at halfway and soon driven to make progress through to lead and go clear with the favourite Marcus Andronicus. Estimate [76]
  • A very strong debut by trainer standards and the reports were that the trainer thought he was good. He was presumably a little more fully prepared than some of the trainer's FTOs but should improve from that run. Acts on soft and runs on Polytrack here (worth noting that the 3rd in the York race looked less effective on GF turf two days ago and easily outpaced by a faster 6f type).
  • Trainer ran a useful 2yo in the race in 2004. He is is good form and had a 2yo debut winner yesterday with what appeared to be another above average 2yo.  Profile [83]
