Racing Summary
DATE PROFILE/COMMENTS
April 14th: Newmarket
5f M (C&G)
  • Sold for good price at the Goffs Orby sale. Above the trainer's normal 10-25k gns range.
  • Good sire has variable record with 2yos and gets winners at all distances. Can get 5f winners although better record at 6f.
  • Dam had quite stout pedigree and ran only twice at 12f as a 3yo showing moderate form. She has produced an 80 rated 5f winner who showed similar form over 7f.
  • Trainer has had run nine 2yos in the last four seasons and none has won. Most have made debuts later in the season. The FTO runs have varied from poor to competent but always 14lbs or more below final rating.
  • In summary a good pedigree to be an average+ winner in the season over 6f+. Trainer will presumably have him competent on debut but with room to improve.  Profile [63]
  • April 14th: Newmarket
    Post Race
  • 25/1 outsider. He was drawn next to the rail but dwelt in the stalls losing two lengths and then showed inexperience and a slow pick-up. He was in last and off the back of the group after on furlong. Never got into the race despite his 5th placing and beat three other runners who had been closer to the pace and who faded and were given varying levels 'easy' finishes. Only plugged on but showed enough given the inexperience to suggest he can improve to 70+ and his trainer normally targets a STO with a better type, presumably at a lesser course. Profile [54]
  • May 14th: Newbury
    6f Maiden Div II
  • Outpaced and inexperienced on debut and plugged on to finish with moderate types for the most part. Steps up to 6f and trainer tends to target STO 'peaks'.  Profile [70]
  • June 10th: Sandown
    7f Maiden
  • 14/1at Newbury in the faster division. Given an aggressive ride and led for 3.5F and 1L clear at halfway. Faded from there as the better types went clear but plugged ont o hold 4th in front of newcomers. Estimate [60]
  • Steps up by 1f again to 7f. Profile [65]
