Racing Summary
DATE PROFILE/COMMENTS
May 14th: Newbury
6f Maiden Div II
  • Made a solid price at the Doncaster St Leger sales.
  • Reviewed at the sales and rated 57 with a slightly below average chance of being a 2yo winner at his level. He was lengthy & short and  physically immature. He looked more of an 8f+ galloper for 3yo development.
  • By a respectable but now little used sire whose record has deteriorated as the quality of mares he receives has declined. Capable of getting winners at 6f, including early season.
  • Sire has had three poor debut runners in 2005 to date.
  • Dam won over 5f in early season but showed lesser form afterwards. Her only previous foal was a poor seller winner.
  • Major trainer does not target strong debuts and only the best types win on debut.
  • In summary likely to be a moderate type and needing further than this 6f.  Profile [55]
  • May 19th: Goodwood
    6f Maiden
  • 16/1 6th favourite of 10 at Newbury on Firm ground which saw a number of non-runners at the meeting. Ridden by a 3lb apprentice he broke well enough and settled midfield behind a solid pace. 2L off the pace at halfway he was outpaced as the race quickened 2F out and faded in the last furlong.  Estimate [45]
  • A poor debut and runs only 5 days later. The trainer has a poor record with runners off a short break. He has tended to use shorter breaks to STO so far in 2005 but the only other one this short was with Tick The Box who was dropped to a seller next time.
  • No reason to expect much improvement.  Profile [54]
  • May 27th: Brighton
    6f Maiden
  • Goodwood meeting was abandoned. Runs here 8 days later. Profile [55]
  • June 6th: Windsor
    6f Maiden
  • 13/2 3rd favourite at Brighton in a race with a clear winner. The race saw the four pacemakers finish 5th-8th and the four that tracked them move through to the first four places. He moved through to fourth but not challenging the first three and a slight fade in the uphill finish.  Estimate [59]
  • The 3rd from the Brighton race has won since in a moderate Hamilton filles' race. Drawn in 7 of 16. Trainer has used the race for sub 70 raters in the last two seasons.  Profile [63]
