Racing Summary
DATE PROFILE/COMMENTS
May 7th: Beverley
5f Maiden
  • Made good price at Doncaster St Leger sales.
  • Rated 68 at the sales. A medium size and build although slightly heavier in front. She had the potential to develop to a higher rating.
  • By a second season sire that made a good start with 2yos notable for good quality although an average number of winners. Got 5f winners but from May onwards
  • Dam has a mixed pedigree. She has produced two minor older winners.
  • Trainer does not target FTO wins and has had three STO winners this season. 2yos capable of winning usually rate 50+ on debut.
  • Trainer runs two in the race and this one has the worse draw.
  • In summary a usable pedigree and a solid physical type with scope to improve. Probably the better of the trainer's two entries but with a poor draw.  Profile [51 + 5 = 56]
  • May 21st: Haydock
    6f Fillies' Maiden
  • 33/1 on debut and the trainer's other runner drifted to 20/1 from 10/1. The race had a too quick pace for the conditions and three of the first four placed horses came from well off the pace and finished in the centre of the course. She broke slowly and raced in the centre of the course. More than 8L off the pace at halfway she kept on late to finish 4th. A slow time and moderate form.  Estimate [29]
  • The 2nd from the Beverley improved to win a Novice race STO this week. Although the overall form was poor she still ran with some promise on debut and steps up to 6f here. Has the physical review to do better here with her experience.  Profile [67]
  • June 6th: Pontefract
    6f Fillies' Auction
  • 7/1 at Haydock in a race with an average pace to halfway. Settled in 3rd a length off the leader (who finished a short head second) at halfway. Slightly outpaced as the race quickened inside 2f and dropped to 5th but responded to pressure and plugging on late to finish a close 4th. Smaller than the three fillies that beat her and looked mostly fit.  Estimate [70]
  • Probably has limited improvement but should be suited to the stiffer track and should handle the climb to the straight ok.. Vulnerable to bigger types with more quality.  Profile [71 + 3 = 74]
