Racing Summary
DATE PROFILE/COMMENTS
April 5th: Declared for
Southwell AW Auction
  • Made ok price at cheaper Doncaster sales in context of the race. Probably still owned by the trainer when entered for the race.
  • By First Season Sire who made early 5f debut as a 2yo and developed through the season at 6f. Made moderate to average impression at sales.
  • B2yoR rated 9 of the sire's yearlings and notable for smaller, slightly light build types. None were rated over 70 including several which cost much more than this one.
  • Sire has had one runner who finished third at Lingfield and one runner in a weak seller.
  • Dam was minor winner rated around 50 at best and has produced a similar type as her best foal.
  • Trainer tends to identify his 2yos capable of early wins before the season starts and that is a plus point for this one entered this early.
  • Trainer's debut runners in March to mid-April tend to place but not quite be ready to win. However, he has had two better fillies on profile unplaced so far in 2005.
  • The trainer had the beaten favourite (second) in the Southwell Auction Fillies' race in 2004 which will take place in 4 days time in 2005.
  • In summary a pedigree of a 50s rated 2yo at best. Trainer normally has the earliest debuts competitive to place although that has not been the case so far in 2005. However, this is a weak race.  Profile [49]
  • April 20th: Catterick
    5f Seller
  • 10/1 in a weakish race on debut and managed to track the group at halfway but then showed a strong fade. Drops to selling grade and first run on turf.  Estimate [6]
  • Trainer has made a slow start to the season with no runners competitive yet. Only one has run STO and that filly ran to a lower level. Too early to say there is a problem in the stable with the 2yos but a thought worth bearing in mind until we see some solid performances.
  • Would expect some improvement but starts from a low base.  Profile [31]
