April 18th: Pontefract 5f Maiden Fillies'	Cost low price at cheaper Doncaster sales. Little used sire with stout pedigree has not had a 2yo winner since 2002 and not one at 5f in 2002-4. Dam cost a solid price at sales and was a slightly above average 5f 2yo winner. Trainer has a variable record with 2yos and had his best season by a long way in 2004 when he had a good group of 2yos. Runners tend to be competent on debut and with the better 2yos in 2003-4 he has managed to get FTO wins in weaker northern races with runners rated between 65-72. This is his first runner of 2005 and he had had 2 debut winners by this date in 2004. In summary a mixed pedigree and likely to be a moderate type given the sales price and therefore needs to run early. Will be competent on debut but probably not able to rate in the 60s. Profile [51]
