May 9th: Wolverhampton
5.1f Auction Fillies' |
Retained for the minimum bid at the Tattersalls Part 2 sales. Bred by the
Fanshawe family and owned by the trainer's wife.
Sire has always been able to get minor 5-6f 2yo winners and has made a
good start to 2005.
Dam was an above average 6f winner for the trainer. She has produced one
poor runner from three previous foals.
Good trainer has a clear strategy with his 2yos and tries not to waste
a run. He tries to win a race within the first two runs and steps better
runners up to Listed+ races. Very few run beyond 3TO. Debuts tend to be
very competent and to a good level within ability.
This is a very early debut for the trainer who normally starts 2yos in
June onwards unless he has a good type to get ready for Royal Ascot. We
can be certain that the reason for the early debut here is that this is
a very limited athlete, and probably very small and they want to get her
running while the races are weaker.
In summary likely to be close to her best here but that's probably going
to be a low level. Profile [41 + 5 = 46]

May 24th: Lingfield
5f Aw Maiden - DIV II |
16/1 at Wolverhampton and looked small but very fit and well prepared.
4L behind a solid pace at halfway, railed well and made progress to a volunteer
second in the straight. Running close to the rail was an advantage.
Estimate [57]
Typically well prepared and professional run FTO. Probably limited development
and vulnerable to bigger 2yos but this is a moderate race. Profile

June 1st: Beverley
5f Listed Fillies |
4/6f at Lingfield in the weaker division wun more than a second slower
than Division I. Pressed the leader by a neck at halfway and went more
than a length clear in the straight but being closed down by a moderate
sprinter and a newcomer in the last furlong to just hold on. Estimate
[56]
Form looks moderate so far and appears to lack the physical scope to improve.
Has a ok draw in 9. Profile [64 + 3 = 67]
