Owner bred and did not go to the sales.
By second season sire who made a good start with his 2yos and most wins
were form 7f+. The earlier debuts and wins were with this trainer. His
only runner in 2005 so far has been for this trainer and finished 2nd at
7f after a midfield 6f debut.
Old dam has produced sprint winners but her recent record is less good.
Major 2yo trainer does not target strong debuts and FTO wins come along
with the useful 2yos. He has only had a single FTO win and 12 places from
38 debuts to date (partly indicating the lack of some quality 2yos).
The trainer introduced a number of useful 2yos in this period in 2004 but
has not shown that trait so far in 2005 (perhaps he doesn't have them?)
Trainer has run 5 in the race in the last two years. Only one of these
has won at 2yo with three being moderate ability. The best runner finished
6th in the tougher 2003 race while the disappointing Councellor finished
3rd in the modest 2004 race.
