Racing Summary
DATE PROFILE/COMMENTS
March 29th: Declared for
Warwick 5f Mf (5)
  • Reasonable price for the Goffs Orby sales.
  • By a good sire with a notably good 2yo winner to runner record. Sire get winners at range of distances but solid record at 5-6f and can also get early runners. Sire can get FTO winners.
  • By non precocious and average to moderate dam.
  • Trainer has poor record with the few minor 2yos she has run in 2002-4. Has two entries in this race and both bought at Goffs sales, this one more expensive.
  • In summary a reasonable pedigree for this type of race. Trainer's record, on limited evidence, suggests she will not be competitive on debut.  Profile [40]
  • March 29th:
    POST RACE
  • First 2yo runner of season for small stable who has at least two relatively expensive 2yos in 2005. They have been entered in many races including the Brocklesby and a seller but both were declared here although only this one ran.
  • In a poor to moderate group physically she was among the better types with some size and length. 20/1 seventh favourite and was in touch before fading with group to a remote fourth probably rating lower than the placers in the earlier 2yo seller. Not a lost cause because can develop from this and perhaps reach low 60s rating.  Estimate [36]
  • April 2nd: Declared
    for Doncaster Auction
  • Runs only 5 days after debut. Topweight filly and 1-2lbs wrong with weight for sex allowance against the colts.
  • Minor improvement from debut expected.  Profile [45 - 2 = 43]
  • April 2nd: Doncaster
    Post Race
  • Hung left throughout the race but led around the furlong from home point before fading. Had looked a physical type capable of reaching 60s rating at Warwick and confirmed that is possible here. Estimate [50]
  • April 15th: Thirsk
    Fillies' Novice
  • The form of her Doncaster 4th looks moderate on the subsequent runs of the first and third. However she can still improve further especially if she does not hang left.  Profile [60]
  • April 30th: Thirsk
    5f Novice
  • Ran above expectations here last time in a slow race on soft ground outstaying a smaller filly and clear of poor to moderate types. Estimate [68]
  • Has shown steady improvement but hung left on the driest surface she has run on. Unproven in a fast 5f race. Penalised 5lb for her novice win here and receives 5lb from the topweight colts.. Profile [68 + 5 = 73]
  • April 30th: Thirsk
    Post Race
  • 8/1. Similar performance to her win here in softer ground conditions. Got a little outpaced here with a stronger pace and driven before halfway and 3 lengths+ off the pacemaker. Drifted left hand to centre track after halfway with the stalled pacemakers. As with her win she then plugged on without showing any pace to go through the faders to take second. Another 'staying' performance by a bigger filly. Profile [66]
  • May 4th: Chester
    5f Conditions
  • Typical run-them-in-everything declaration by a smaller stable with a 2yo with some ability. Runs only 4 days after her Thirsk second.
  • Will lack the pace and class to compete in this race. The only chance of a volunteer placing would be if there is a furious pace and/or softer ground and it turns into a staying race.  Profile [66 + 5 = 71]
  • May 4th: Chester
    Post Race
  • Ran for the second time in 4 days and on better going after two runs on softer going at Thirsk. In the better of those two Thirsk races she had given the impression of being outpaced. Her performance here suggests that is an incorrect reading and she has good pace but needs better going to show it. She showed a notable improvement STO on better ground at Doncaster only 4 days after her poor debut on softer going at Warwick. The other major point to note was that she was probably the biggest in the field and seems to have scope to improve further.
  • She received each-way support from 11/1 to 10/1 as third favourite. She broke best from stall one and ran slightly freely early. Her jockey was happy to settle her on the rail behind the pair Dusty City (stall 6) and Danjet (4) who ran hard in the first furlong to duel for the lead. She travelled well behind the solid pace. She was 2.5 lengths off the pace at halfway in 5th as others pressed the leading pair. The pacemakers stalled towards the final furlong and she easily went though and then showed some change-of-pace to quicken to go away with Strike Up The Band in the last furlong. The smaller colt showed the sharper acceleration and opened a half length lead but she was able to gain on him after his initial 'spurt'. Pulled 5 lengths clear of the pacemaker in the last furlong+.
  • Looks capable of further physical development and should stay 6f. Capable of rating higher.  Estimate [85]
  • May 13th: York
    6f Fillies' Listed
  • Improved on her last run to get the highest rating by a filly so far. The better ground at Chester seemed to be a major factor in revealing that improvement. The niggle here is that the ground has been tacky at York and she has looked less comfortable on that. She also has to give between 4-7lb to the other runners. Profile [85 - 4 = 81]
  • June 15th: York
    5f Group 2 Fillies'
  • 6/1 at York in May and a little support. Race run on soft (has run better on firmer ground) and where the first two were always front rank. Settled 6th and 2L of fthe lead at halfway. Jockey switched right and then left to get a run and moved up to 3rd and kept on well.  Estimate [83]
  • T2Hf, SwcR&L-1.5, Eff, KON
  • 29th May ran in a 5.5f fillies' Listed race at Capanelle (Rome) as 21/20f on 'Good'. Finished a short head second and 2L ahead of Adeje Park.
  • Runs here for the same owner but for a new trainer.
  • Back at 5f and probably on faster going.  Profile [88]
  • June 17th: York
    6f Fillies' Group 3
  • Non runner in the Queen Mary and runs in this race over 6f instead. Has always looked likely to be suited by that.  Estimate [88]
