June 3rd: Thirsk 5f Maiden	Made a solid price at the Tattersalls Part 2 sales. Minor sire ok for producing 5f 2yo winners from early season and occasionally with a little class. He has had two minor (rated 55 or less) 5f winners in 2005. Dam a daughter of notable mare Misty Halo who won 20 races at a low level and none in a handicap (and also won twice on the Isle Of Man, whatever that amounts to). She had a typical career with M Prescott and had three quiet 2yo runs without getting noticed. She then won 5 races in 6 runs over longer distances at 3yo and still only had an Official Rating in the 60s on the last of those wins. She has produced a useful sprint 2yo in Italy and a good handicapper here. Trainer made a late start to the season with his 2yos but appears to have a number of average, or better types. He has run seven 2yos so far with 2 winning on debut (both winners again STO) with three others placed. All have looked fit and prepared to run to a high level within their ability FTO. In summary a good pedigree to produce a 2yo winner but not obviously at 5f. Trainer has debuted less able types recently after the first batch. Profile [56 + 5 = 61]
