Racing Summary
DATE PROFILE/COMMENTS
April 23rd: Leicester
5f Maiden
  • Made poor price at the Doncaster St Leger sales.
  • Second season sire made an acceptable start with 2yos in 2004 with an ok number of winners although only average quality at best. He got wins over all distances from May onwards. The two 5f wins were split as one on Heavy ground and one in a moderate race.
  • Dam was bred by Cheveley Park and well enough related. She showed similar form rated in the 50s over three seasons.
  • Trainer has below average record overall with average 2yos. Debuts tend to be close to best rating although earliest debuts can be more inexperienced. Has had three runners in 2005 two of which have placed in poor to moderate races on debut (one showed no improvement STO).
  • In summary a moderate pedigree and sales price a strong worry. Likely to be close to best rating on debut but that is likely to be quite a low level.  Profile [45]
  • April 23rd: Leicester
    Post Race
  • Rated 62 and although smallish showed acceptable build and depth. A notably weak mover behind.
  • Drifted from 20/1 to 25/1 and price may well have been that low because D Holland riding. Put up an untypically poor performance for a trainer who normally has 2yos competent on debut. Broke slowly and never got into the race and was adrift at the finish.  Estimate [0]
  • May 1st: Newmarket
    5f Maiden
  • Made a poor debut only 8 days ago on softer going and was adrift in a moderate to average race. Trainer tend to take a series of runs to get these types 'organised'.  Estimate [28]
  • May 1st:  Newmarket
    Post Race
  • 33/1. The only runner with previous experience in the field and finished last. Driven along early to get close to the pacemakers and within a length of a solid, but not strong pace, at halfway. Quickly outpaced and became unbalanced and jinked right as the pace quickened from 2f out. Faded badly from there. Ran to expectations and looks limited. Profile [34]
  • May 10th: Yarmouth
    6f Auction
  • Steps up to 6f after fading badly while after trying to 5f pace in a better race. Trainer has run a similar type in the race in 2004 who finished third an managed a minor win later in the season. That runner had not faded as strongly as this one in it's previous runs.  Profile [43]
