Cost good price at the Doncaster St Leger sales. Well above the trainer's
normal upper limit (around 18k gns).
Reviewed at the sales and was rated 76 and this was seen as an 'at best'
and close to the Official Rating he should be able to achieve in early
to mid-season. He was neat and slightly small but an obvious, early sprint
type.
By sire with a very good and consistent record with 2yos. Gets early, precocious
sprinters and good record with debut runners. Solid percentage of useful+
2yos. Notable for runners having better record on GF+ going.
Dam was a slightly above average 5f sprinter. She has produced a precocious
sprint 2yo in the same mould with her first foal.
Trainer has moderate record with 2yos. Debuts, especially in early season
are normally uncompetitive, development runs and looking to peak on STO.
Trainer has had two uncompetitive debuts already this season in line with
his normal record.
He has entered two in this race and this one has a senior jockey and the
other an apprentice.
In summary the pedigree and sales review of a just-add-water early sprint
2yo winner. If the ground was GF and the trainer was different you'd be
considering whether this one could win this type of race on debut. The
trainer's record is a negative though. However, expect him to show more
on debut than the trainer's normal. Profile [60]

6f Novice |
20/1 on debut and his trainer's other runner was 33/1. Ran very poorly
racing in the centre of the course. Never going the pace on the soft ground,
more than five lengths down at halfway and faded badly from 2f out. Finished
last. Estimate [1]
The trainer's debuts tend to be poor and his runners develop with racing.
This one very disappointing even so and steps up to 6f. He is by a sire
who is notable for getting a high number of runners that need firm ground
and that may have been an issue with the debut run (the sire has had two
STO winners in 2005 both on firmer going after poor to moderate debuts
on softer ground.
He has been given a break but the trainer has not had a STO runner placed
in the last three seasons to 2005 off a wide variety of breaks. In summary
he ought to have the ability to be an average sprint 2yo and this run should
be an indicator of whether that is likely. Profile [61]

100/1 at Nottingham. Broke awkwardly and held up behind. Tracked the average
pace by 2L at halfway then notably outpaced and left behind as the race
quickened . Estimate [30]
Drops back to 5f but given no indication he has worthwhile ability.
