Racing Summary
DATE PROFILE/COMMENTS
April 15th: Thirsk
Fillies' Novice
  • Made low price at the Goffs sales.
  • Sire has mixed pedigree but has an acceptable record with 2yos since being repatriated. Gets winners over a variety of distances but can get odd 5f winners. Wins usually come from May onwards.
  • Dam made quite high price at sales for her sire and was a slightly above average sprint 2yo. She has a disappointing stud record with three runners that have shown 50s form and sold for similar prices to this one.
  • Trainer made his name with older sprinters and has only a few 2yos each season. The debuts tend to be 10lbs or more below the final rating and wins tend to be STO and at peak rating.
  • In summary a pedigree of a 50s rated 5f 2yo who may do a little better over 6f. Trainer's debuts are normally development runs towards a STO peak. Unusual for him to make a debut in a better race but this is his local track and this the only race available for his filly (unless he wanted to run her in the claimer tomorrow).  Profile [51]
  • May 3rd: Catterick
    5f Auction
  • 16/1 and never in the race at Thirsk on soft ground and outpaced throughout. Estimate [0]
  • Would need to improve on better ground to be competitive in this race.  Profile [35 + 5 = 40]
  • May 9th: Redcar
    5f Novice
  • Attracted some each-way support at Catterick from 28/1 to 20/1 in a race with several supported and a drifting second favourite. Looked small but very fit and a neat, ready little sprinter. Proved that her first run on soft was below her level. Broke ok from wide draw and settled midfield off a slow early pace and made a little ground to bt just over a length behind the leader at halfway. Driven up to challenge the leader just after halfway and duelled with him and just got by as he faded late. Beat a horse who had shown signs of getting unblanaced and not finishing races off well in his previous run and did the same. Estimate [53]
  • Probably ran close to her best rating at Catterick and looked very fit and lacking some range and any great scope to develop. Has the conditions to run to s similar level here. Penalised 4lb for her win and receives only 1lb from the newcomer colts.  Profile [56 + 1 =57]
