May 12th: Carlisle 5f Maiden	Made a poor price at the Tattersalls Ireland sales especially given his pedigree. Sire has an average record with 2yos since repatriated. Can get 5f and early runners and winners. Dam was a high class winner in the US and has produced 2yo winners in France. Trainer has had an increase in the number of 2yo runners in the last two seasons and they have tended to be bought in Ireland. He had two winners in 2003 but none in 2004 with these types. FTO runs are usually competent and within 10lbs of the runner's final rating. The FTO SPs are usually 20/1+ and not correlated with the runner's ability. The earliest debuts in the last two seasons have tended to be those with the most relative ability. In summary likely to be an uncompetitive 2yo although being the first 2yo runner for his trainer suggests he may be one of the better ones he has (which doesn't always amount to much). Profile [48]
