April 13th: Declared for
Beverley 5f Auction |
Sold for reasonable price in context of race at Irish sales.
Third season sire had good start with 2yos in 2003 but less good in 2004.
He gets 5f winners but they tend to be from May onwards.
Dam has produced 5f 2yo winners.
Trainer has moderate record with 2yos. The debut runs tend to be uncompetitive
and well below the best rating.
In summary an acceptable pedigree for this type of race. Trainer's methods
suggest she will be well short of her best on debut. Profile [35]

April 13th: Beverley
Post Race |
Made a more encouraging debut than most 2yos with the trainer. Showed good
professionalism and early pace to get from draw 3 to press the leader (who
outclassed the field overall). Was within a length of the leader and given
a active ride to make a further effort after halfway. Faded to 5th and
finished behind Bow Bridge who she meets here but was at least two lengths
behind her as she pressed the superior pacemaker. Estimate [49]

April 23rd: Ripon
5f Auction Fillies' |
Made a more aggressive and better debut than most 2yos for the trainer
and showed some natural pace at a moderate to average level.
Would expect some improvement from that debut by the trainer's normal methods.
This flatter track may help her to see ought the race distance if she is
a short runner. Her pedigree seems to clearly indicate a limit in the quality
of rating to expect. Receives 4lb from the topweight fillies.

May 9th: Redcar
5f Novice |
Again pressed the pacemaker and again with Bow Bridge (the winner here
and 2nd in her debut race) tracking her. Soft ground and she faded notably
from just before the final furlong to finish fourth. Faded less than the
pacemaker she pressed (who had shown similar form to her on debut) Estimate
[20]
The actual level of form she has produced is moderate but in both her races
she has shown good pace before last furlong fades. The form of her last
run looks better now given the subsequent win by Bow Bridge in a better
race. In this race she has firmer ground and a flat track and this ought
to be an advantage to be able to use here pace and keep going for longer.
Receives weight from all but one other runner and would a be a strong contender
with a little improvement. The trainer's record with 2yos is a negative
and he tend to get wins from 4TO onwards with runners who has shown promise
in earlier runs. Profile [56 + 5 = 61]
