Not sold for a solid bid price at the Tattersalls part 2 sales.
Reviewed at the sales and rated 70 with a good chance of being a 2yo winner.
He was small but with a well above average build with good depth. He was
very neat and in proportion and a good, balanced, mover.
First Season Sire only ran at 7f as 2yo. Made moderate impression at sales.
B2yoR reviewed 9 of his yearling sales and most were moderate.
Sire has had five moderate runners so far.
Dam has produced 2 older winners plus a poor 2yo who was retained for a
notably lower price.
Younger trainer has varied his strategy with 2yos but seems to have settled
for development debut runs. The FTO winners tend to be the better types
and are more likely in the earlier stages of the season.
FTO SP does show some correlation to the actual performance and a shorter
SP is significant.
He has had five debuts so far in 2005 and all have been to a similar form
level and have placed between 2nd to 6th depending upon the quality of
the race.
In summary a solid 2yo at the sales although likely to be limited by his
size in terms of longer term development. The trainer has not targeted
strong debuts this season. He has said in interview that he got some 2yos
'ready' for debuts early in 2004 and it did not really work out. The trainer
essay notes that he had a slow start to 2004 and then a break before getting
into stride in the second half of the season. There have been 'whispers'
that this is one of his better precocious 2yos so probably a slightly above
average debut. Profile [68]

Drifted from 7/2 to 5/1 as 3rd favourite on debut. Race run at a moderate
pace and just over a length off the pace at halfway in 5th. Made an effort
2f out as the race quickened and made a little progress to 3rd before fading
later in the final furlong. Estimate [66]
A solid debut by trainer standards and he seems to have targeted development
debuts in 2005. Moderate runners have shown minor improvement so far for
him but the better type has shown a good advancement. Profile
