April 23rd: Haydock 5f Maiden Fillies'	Made low price at Goffs sales. By second season sire who made solid start in 2005 with good number of winners and half the wins over 5f, including early season. Old dam has poor record at stud with only two minor winners. Trainer's stable in decline and 2004 his poorest 2yo season. Debut runs are normally poor and a forward showing is a sure sign of a runner with natural ability (and probable future winner). Trainer's early season debuts can be very inexperienced. He has had four poor 2yo debuts in 2005. Trainer has had a STO winner this week in a poor seller. In summary a moderate pedigree and unlikely to be competitive at this level with trainer's methods. May 16th: Edinburgh 5f Auction	33/1 at Haydock and showed a little more than the trainer's usual debut efforts. Led early and pressed the pacemaker by a neck at halfway with a solid but usable pace in softer ground. Faded quite strongly in the last 1F+ though. Estimate [41] Made the best debut of a trainer 2yo in 2005 although moderate form. That was a relatively strong race in comparison to today.
