  • Retained for solid price at the sales. Penalised 7lb for the price in this Class 6 Auction and joint topweight.
  • Sire has a below average record with 2yos and his wins tend to come from July onwards. He also has a better record over 7f but does get 6f winners. He has had 7 unsuccessful runners over 5f in 2005 and has two runners in this first 6f race of the season.
  • The dam is very well related but showed moderate and regressive form over 7f+. This is her first foal.
  • Major 2yo trainer has settled into his normal pattern of debut runs mostly being educational with the better types being able to place and occasionally win. He is notable for running many 2yos over distances which look short of their best on pedigree analysis.
  • Trainer has had two runners placed in the race in the last two years. He runs two here and this is probably the first string.

Made progress after halfway as the race quickened racing towards the far rail. Led inside the final furlong and went away looking better class than the others.  Estimate [67]
  • A good winner on debut going away and the second has dropped back to 5f to win an average maiden on soft ground since. The others in the race look moderate at best. Trainer does not target strong debuts (other than occasionally for particular owners) and those that can win on debut tend to be better types.
