Racing Summary
DATE PROFILE/COMMENTS
May 20th: Newmarket
6f Maiden Fillies'
  • Retained for a middling price at the Tattersalls Part 1 sales.
  • Good, US based, sire has a good record with his few British based 2yos. They have included a high proportion of high quality runners and ok for 6f.
  • Dam is very well related but unplaced on her only run. She has produced 4 older winners from her previous 6 foals.
  • Good trainer has a well above average record with 2yos. He looks to win a maiden in the first two runs and then step the better 2yos up to conditions races or higher. He assesses 2yos at home and debut runs used to be mostly competent and places were common and the better 2yos could win on debut.
  • Trainer has had five debut runs in 2005 with two solid second places, one at 33/1. The other three have drifted in the market and been comfortably beaten including a volunteer third.
  • Trainer runs two in the race with J Mackay on this one and JP Spencer on Hill Of Grace.
  • In summary an acceptable pedigree for this race and probably reasonably competent.  Profile [61]
  • June 6th: Pontefract
    6f Fillies' Auction
  • 20/1 at Newmarket with the trainer's other filly at 11/2. Looked slightly bigger and a little more athletic than Hill Of Grace though. Race had a steady pace to halfway set by poor fillies. Group bunched up to 2F out and she was running the rail in second rank and found the leaders fading back into her. Had to switch right 6 off the rail to get a run and kept on to finish 5th (Hill Of Grace 4th).  Estimate [56]
  • Race looked average on the day and the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 7th, 8th & 11th have all been well beaten in a variety of races since. Moderate improvement. Profile [62 + 3 = 65]
  • June 17th: York
    6f Fillies' Group 3
  • 11/2. Held up at Pontefract in a race with a good pace. More than 4L off the pace at halfway and started to make progress int he straight. 4th entering th fianl furlong but kept on well to lead late against runners who had been close to the pace.  Estimate [74]
  • Previous run looked a 'staying' effort and unlikely to be suited to this faster 6f.  Profile [76]
