June 11th: Doncaster 6f Maiden	Made a middling price at the Tattersalls Part 2 sales. Second season sire made a poor start with his 2yos in 2004. Only one 7f winner from 16 runners. Most made later season debuts and only one raced at less than 7f. The earlier season debuts were for the usual set including R Hannon. Dam unplaced over middle distances on three runs at 2yo. Trainer does not target FTO wins and those that win on debut are normally his best runners (or targeted debuts for specific owners). He has had 7 FTO wins from 28 runs in 2005 and above his usual rate although most of those fit the model of being better class 2yos running for one of the specific owners. His last 7 debuts have included 4 places without any looking likely to win which is close to his normal record. In summary unusual to start at 6f given the sire and overall pedigree but the trainer is one of the group that try various types over 5-6f.
