May 20th: Bath
5.7f Maiden |
Retained for a poor price at the Tattersalls part 2 sales.
Sire has a variable but better than average record with 2yos and they tend
to be better for 6f+ and development through the season.
He has made a good start to 2005 with four M Channon trained 5-6f winners.
Dam was a useful 7f winner STO for R Hannon. She ran in a Listed race FTO
as a 3yo but showed no worthwhile form in 6 runs at that age as her OR
decreased to 78 from 92.
Trainer used to be assistant to R Hannon and is developing his own style
since he started in 2001. He tends not to target strong debuts except with
particular runners. These tend to leave to shorter SPs (8/1 or less compared
to 10/1+ normally).
He has had three poor debuts in 2005.
In summary likely to be a development debut for a limited type.

May 28th: Goodwood
6f Auction |
20/1 at Bath and made a reasonable debut in a race with a good pace. Never
beyond midfield but tracked the pace by 3L at halfway and in touch until
fading in the last furlong. Estimate [51]
Made a better than average debut for the trainer. Runners tend to develop
to close to best rating STO. Profile [58 + 12 = 70]

July 3rd: Brighton
7f Auction |
This run is 5TO. Ran poorly at Goodwood after setting the pace on the rail
for 4f but then faded badly. Estimate [0]
33/1 next time in a weak Fillies' Auction at Newbury over 6f and finished
6th of 17 but that was poor form other than the first 3. Estimate
[37]
4TO ran over 6f at Leicester in another poor Fillies' Auction race .3lb
apprentice riding and tracked the pace in 3rd at halfway but just 0.5L
off the lead. Took over in front 2f out and headed by the winner just inside
the last furlong and plugged on Estimate [51]
Third place last time possibility indicate how poor that race was with
two limited newcomers beating her. Profile [50 + 10 =60]
