SUMMARY OF APPROACH TO 2YO RACING :-

Stable has run between six to thirteen 2yos in the seasons 1999 to 2004. The record with 2yos was ok in the three seasons 1999-2001 but the three seasons 2002-4 have been poor. In these poor seasons the stable has run thirty 2yos and had just two winners of three races (two of these were low quality AW sellers).
The lack of quality in the last three seasons makes it difficult to confirm previous patterns with his 2yos.
In general FTO runs are competent and the better runners will be able to place and occasionally win.
The better runners which make early season debuts (Mar-May) can improve by 15lbs from debut to final rating. Later season debuts are probably closer to their final rating on debut.
FTO SPs have not been an indicator of better runners in the period 2002-4. For example his best runners in 2004 were both 20/1 on debut.
In the seasons 1999-2002 with better groups of 2yos the stable had shown a pattern of having an 'in-form' period in May or June. This period would include a large percentage of the winners in the season. In 2002-4 with a poorer groups this period has not been in evidence.
Retired at the end of the season following health problems and being diagnosed with cancer. Reported to be trying to become a bloodstock agent.
Stable sold to new trainer (received licence in 2005) Stewart Parr.
