Made his name in the late 1970s through to the 1990s as a trainer of 2yos.
Notable for concentrating on precocious and relatively cheap 2yos often
getting multiple winners including Provideo and Timeless Times who both
won 16 races. Trained a range of other notable, mainly sprint 2yos, including
Abdu, Brondesbury, Fayruz, Mac's Imp, Manor Farm Boy, On Stage, Reesh,
Superlative & Superpower. Author of an excellent book about his career
- "Racing Horses - About my Father's Business".

Has had only occasional 2yo runners in recent seasons and his last winner
in 2002 with Red Wizard.
