5f Maiden |
Owner bred and the dam and most of the previous foals have been with the
same trainer.
By sire who made good start as a First Season Sire in 2002 with quality
sprint 2yos. Has produced winners, but of lesser quality in 2003-4 from
smaller crops. Can produce early 5f winners.
Dam was a poor runner and has produced mostly poor to moderate runners.
However, the last two foals have been better class 5f 2yo winners and have
provided a high percentage of the stable's 2yo wins in the period 2002-4.
Trainer has shown the usual traits in 2005 by having his runners fit and
ready to compete to their best on debut and then not progressing. 9 of
the 14 debuts have been places at a wide variety of SPs (including one
10/1 winner).
He runs two in this race and this one has a veteran 'work rider' while
the other runner has the stable's preferred apprentice and would appear
to be the first string. One niggle is that jockey arrangements are not
always a good indicator of the better runner with the stable.
In summary the dam's record has improved with her last two foals after
she had produced moderate types. Overall the pedigree is ok for a minor
sprint winner but the riding arrangements suggest a more limited type.
Should be competent on debut. Profile [48]
