Lingfield 5f (AW)
Conditions Race (D1) |
Relatively cheap buy for the sales. Already gelded.
By repatriated sire who has a moderate record with 2yos overall but ok
for 5-6f minor winners.
Sire can get early runners but poor record with debut runs and runners
tend to develop after early season.
First foal of an unraced dam with a non precocious pedigree.
Reviewed at the sales and rated 67. Smallish but some positives in neatness
and with some prospects to be a minor early winner on physical set-up.
Trainer targets 2yo racing and has a group ready early. These will be a
mix of abilities. The moderate runners will be close to their best on debut.
Trainer has entered 4 probably to ensure at least one runner.
In summary likely to be moderate but, if professional, has prospects to
run to around 56+ on debut and that could be competitive for a place. Profile

April 1st: Declared
for Lingfield 5f Auction |
Did not run at Lingfield, possibly balloted out. The trainer entered four
in that race and one ran and won (and won the Brocklesby next run). The
other two entries were Makabul (won on debut by 5L) and Lyrical Blues (close
second at Folkestone on debut).
So we know that the trainer has a better group of 2yos in 2005 and has
got them ready and professional early (in contrast to a poor start to 2004).
This one was selected as part of that group so inclined to increase profile
rating slightly. Profile [62]

April 1st: Lingfield
5f Auction |
Continued the fast start to the season by the trainer and confirmed the
view formed of him that he would be competitive early sprinter despite
his 5k gns sales price. He ran close to expectations and received some
support from 7/2 3rd favourite to 5/2 favourite as Slack Willy Hilly and
Angelina Bankes drifted.
The test will be how much improvement he can show assuming the trainer
has his runners very ready on debut in 2005 given his record so far. Estimate

April 23rd: Lingfield
5f Conditions |
Won a weak race on debut beating Piccostar who also runs here. Was well
on top at the finish.
Trainer has only had two STO runs in 2005 and one showed good improvement.
Likely to show improvement and trainer's runners will still be ahead of
the average. Profile [74]
