June 3rd: Thirsk
6f Maiden Fillies' |
Made a good price in the select session of the Goffs sales.
First season sire made good impression at sales and yearlings sold well.
He won over 7f at 2yo but reverted to a top class sprinter at 3yo.
His early runners over 5f have competed just averagely well with places
but no wins. He had his first win with a debut runner over 6f in a moderate
to average Ayr maiden.
Dam unraced but is quite well related with Listed race winner and hurdler
Im Supposin the best athlete of her siblings. More notably she is half
sister to Mira Adonde who produced Group 1 sprinter and good sire Danehill
Dancer.
NH trainer had his first 2yos in 2004 with the variety of expensive horses
purchased by G. Wylie. He made good use of these. The earliest debuts included
the better runners and two FTO winners.
His first debut in 2005 put up a strong placed performance at 4/1 and won
well STO. The second debut was well beaten at 18/1 and the third backed
at 9/4 and 3rd in a Novice race. The other was well beaten at 28/1.
In summary a good but unproven pedigree and hints that the sire will be
better at 6f and for some development in the season. The trainer does not
target FTO wins and the better types do show solid improvement STO. It
appears that the best types can win FTO and the market has been a good
indicator of what's expected so far in 2005. Profile [58]
