April 5th: Declared for
Southwell AW Auction |
Sold for reasonable price at the 'cheap' Doncaster sales in the context
of this race.
Sire has good, but stout pedigree and Derby winner. Had seventeen 2yos
in 2004 and only one ran over 5f with no success. Most ran over 7-8f and
he only had two maiden winners but with some ok quality overall.
Dam has patchy record but has produced two runners of ok quality in the
context of this race.
Trainer gets his modest 2yos ready early but debut runs are uncompetitive.
However he has had two better placed debuts with more promising types in
2005.
In summary an acceptable pedigree for the race in quality but not real
5f type. Trainer has had his better debuts more competitive on debut in
2005 but this runner does probably fit into the 'better' group. Profile

April 5th: Southwell
Post Race |
Ran an acceptable race by trainer's standards and finished 5th without
ever getting into the race. 11/1 and a relatively short SP but trainer
has seemed to have his debuts more forward in 2005 and this was a moderate
race. Estimate [45]

Finished midfield in a similar race here on debut and behind Woodwee (STO)
and Countrywide Belle who are also in this race.
Trainer's runners tend to show good improvement from debut although the
most moderate are closer to final rating. Expect reasonable improvement
here. Profile [53]
