June 9th: Wolverhampton
6f Maiden |
Withdrawn from the Tattersalls Part 2 sales.
First season sire has made an acceptable start with his 2yos. He has had
more than 25 runners (more than any other FSS) although only 3 winners
with some promise from others. [Possibly his runners need more time and
6f?]
Dam also trained by Mr Gilligan. Made 6f debut August 3rd and 5th from
a good draw in a good Windsor maiden. Won 5f STO August 17th and showed
just above average winning form. Her first foal was a poor AW winner in
2004.
Stable does not target 2yo racing and has run one to four 2yos in the seasons
2002-4. These have mostly been bought at the sales for between 2k to 9k
gns.
Debuts are normally in second half of the season (August onwards) and are
usually competent and within 10lbs of the 2yos best ratings.
The FTO SPs for turf debut runs have all been at 33/1 or longer and are
not correlated with ability.
In summary interesting to see the early debut and would be good to know
why he was withdrawn from the sales. Likely to be a long SP but worth checking
for signs of ability and possible STO improvement. Profile [52]
