May 2nd: Kempton
5f Maiden |
Retained for low price at the Tattersalls Ireland sales.
Second season sire made average start with 2yos in 2004. The earliest debuts
over 5f tended to be limited types. He got 5f winners although the better
types won from mid-season.
Sire has already had a debut 5f winner in a weak race from 2 runners.
Old dam has produced only three older winners.
Trainer gets his 2yos fit and professional ready for the start of the season.
It's probable that we've seen the best of his early debuts for the season.
He runs two on debut in this race and this may be the first string.
In summary likely to be a moderate type although should be fit and ready
on debut. Profile [52]

May 10th: Yarmouth
6f Auction |
Some each-way support at 25/1 on debut. Look small and limited but fit
and a 'tryer'. Broke well and settled third as part of the group behind
the 2 lengths clear pacemaker. Outpaced after halfway as the pace quickened
and plugged on as the pacemakers slightly faded and/or eased.
Estimate [63]
The debut rating is probably her best rating and little scope to develop.
That rating may be suspect given the race was made up newcomers accept
for the winner. Profile [62 + 5 = 67]

May 27th: Wolverhampton
6f Maiden |
10/1 joint 3rd favourite at Yarmouth in a mostly moderate group. 2L off
an average pace at halfway and soon driven and outpaced as the race quickened
2f out. Plugged on slowly for a moderate 6th and finished with poor to
moderate types. Estimate [44]
Time has shown that the first run over 5f at Kempton was notably over rated
and probably a low 50s mark at best. Her run over 6f exposed further her
limitations because of her size and build. Shows a willing attitude but
lacks scope. Profile [54 + 5 = 59]
