May 23rd: Leicester 6f Maiden	Made a good price at the Tattersalls part 2 sales helped by the performances of his half-brother in 2004. Now deceased sire has an average record with 2yos and gets winners at all distances. Can get early 5-6f runners. Dam was bred and owner by the Queen and an above average sprint 2yo. She has produced on dip-backed seller winner and one compact heavy useful sprint 2yo. does not strongly target 2yo racing and until recently only ran a few in late season. This is a more typical start date following an unsuccessful attempt at earlier debuts in 2004. He does not target strong debuts and aims for STO wins with his better types. In summary an acceptable pedigree and sales price to be at least an average maiden winner. Trainer tends to have uncompetitive debuts at longer prices. Only the Group 1 winner Where Or When has won on debut for him in recent years. Profile [53]
June 9th: Wolverhampton 6f Maiden	Paddock reviewed at Leicester - rated 73. Medium size but with above average build. Slightly compact and a little leggy. Powerful in front but slightly weaker behind. About 1 point below average race fitness. Bandaged in front. Ok for development to 70+ rating. 16/1 6th favourite at Leicester in a race with less actual quality than appeared possible from the pre-race profile with the Maktoum family owned runners a disappointing group overall. 3L off a solid pace at halfway then got a little outpaced before plugging on for a volunteer fourth. The winner came from well behind him at halfway. Estimate [56] Just an ok debut but with promise for development to just over 70 rating. Trainer's runners usually show around 10lb improvement STO off solid debuts although his first STO runner (off a short break) ran poorly yesterday. Did not show real 6f pace at Leicester and a niggle over whether this turning 6f will suit him. Profile [68]
