Made a solid price at the Goffs sales.
Sire has mixed pedigree but has an acceptable record with 2yos since being
repatriated. Gets winners over a variety of distances but can get odd 5f
winners. Wins usually come from May onwards.
He has had one minor 5f winner from 3 runners in 2005. Another has shown
reasonably 5f form including being prominent in the Norfolk Stakes for
3f+.
Dam well related and has produced one sprint 2yo winner in Italy.
Trainer had a moderate to average record with 2yos until 2004 and a typical
year would be 'rescued' by some later season wins after the earlier season
debuts had variable competency and readiness. In 2004 he targeted 2yo more
and tried to get his runners competitive from earlier in the season. Helped
by three useful to superior 2yos (Chateau Istana who won this race 3TO,
Polly Perkins & Salsa Brava) he had a good start to the season
and, unusually, FTO wins.
So far 2005 looks more like his normal '2yo season' and he has run only
four 2yos who have looked inexperienced and competed poorly on debut.
This one is for the same owner as Chateau Istana.
In sumamry would need to be a superior and ready 5f 2yo to compete for
the trainer in a race this strong FTO (Chateau Istana was 5th FTO in a
lesser race for example). Profile [63 + 6 = 69]
