Racing Summary
DATE PROFILE/COMMENTS
June 7th: Hamilton
6f Maiden
  • Owner bred by Cheveley Park Stud.
  • Sire has a stout pedigree and made his name over middle distances as an older horse. He won over 7f at 2yo. He has a below average record with 2yos and gets rare 6f winners and his record is better for 7f+ from June onwards.
  • He has had two debuts at 6f in 2005 and both have looked to lack the zip for 6f in different ways. One 'blew up' trying to chase a strong 6f pace and the other needed all of the stiff Pontefract 6f to get into gear and kept on late.
  • Dam has a US pedigree and won over 7f here. She made a later season debut as have her two previous 2yos who have needed 7f.
  • Trainer with a set strategy has started running his 2yos over the last week. The first 6 runners have produced 2 wins and three places in moderate races. In general they have looked mostly ready but not wound up and have competed well partly because of the weakness of the opposition.
  • The earliest runners in each season will include most of the winners. He assesses his 2yos at home before they run and will have a plan with most of them depending upon the ability they have.
  • The latest three debuts in the last two days have been unplaced and looked less natural 2yos. Trainer used this race in 2003 to introduce a runner that needed 8f to show his best.
  • In summary the pedigree suggests a more development debut and unlikely to be pacy enough for 6f here.  Profile [52 + 5 = 57]
  • June 29th: Catterick
    7f Maiden
  • Average support at 2/1f at Hamilton. Broke left handed and lost a length and 2.5L off a solid pace after 1F. Made her effort downhill to close up and press the leader at halfway. Slightly outpaced by the winner coming to 1F out and a slight fade late to lose second. Estimate [64]
  • Steps up to a more suitable 7f but on a faster course. Trainer has had 11 STO runs from the early batch of runners with two wins and five places. She made an above average debut in that batch. Trainer's runners which made solid debuts have shown improvement STO although to moderate extent.  Estimate [70 + 5 = 75]
