June 11th: Leicester
6f Maiden Fillies' |
Owner bred by J Hanson who had another debut runner with very similar breeding
earlier this week (Santiago Star).
Second British 2yo runner for his sire who was a minor 6f 2yo winner in
the US when racing for Sheikh Mohammed. He retired to stud in Chile and
had an exceptional record there and has been champion sire for the last
five seasons. He was imported to Australia in 2003. Presumably part of
his last Chilean crop but bred to Northern Hemisphere season time.
Dam related to high class winner in Chile.
Trainer does not target FTO wins although runners are usually competent
on debut and those with ability make the first 6 places in appropriate
races.
The earliest debuts in the season tend to be the 2yos winners (of varying
ability) for the stable during the season.
His first three debuts in 2005 were uncompetitive. Then there was
a good second in a similar quality race and received market support. The
latest two have been poor debuts including one for this owner.
In summary a Chilean pedigree and difficult to place although ok for 6f
at 2yo. Trainer record suggests this will not be a strong debut.
