May 25th: Ripon
6f Maiden |
Not sold for a middling price at the Tattersalls part 2 sales and a notable
decrease from the foal price.
By sire with a very good and consistent record with 2yos. Gets early, precocious
sprinters and good record with debut runners. Solid percentage of useful+
2yos. Notable for runners having better record on GF+ going.
Sire has had two winners this season both on firmer ground.
Dam showed average winning form over 5f.
Trainer has been putting an increasing emphasis on 2yos in 2002-4.
He does not target FTO wins and did not have a FTO winner between 1994
to 2004. In 2003-4 he has had a debut winner in each season but both have
rated 30lbs or more below their best for their debut win.
He has had seven poor debut runners in 2005.
In summary would need to be superior to win here and profile suggests average,
at best, with development. Profile [42]

June 1st: Beverley
5f Listed Fillies' |
Non runner at Ripon over 6f and runs 7 days later over 5f. Has a
good draw in 13 but hard to see her having the pace & professionalism
to use it given the traner's normal FTO readiness. Would need to be superior
to win on debut. Profile [44 + 6 = 51]

June 15th: York
5f Group 2 Fillies' |
50/1 at Beverley on rain softened ground in a race with a strong pace.
Broke ok but outpaced early and more than 7L behind at halfway. Faded a
little from there. Estimate [14]
Looks outclasse. Trainer ran a similar type in the Chesham yesterday (is
the York-Ascot getting some northern trainers to run when they wouldn't
normally?). Profile [50]
