Conditions Race (D1) |
By First Season Sire that won over 6f in first half of its 2yo season.
Sire made good impression at sales and likely to get some early sprint
winners. However, the cheap sales price a big negative because his better
types sold well.
B2yoR rated 17 of the sire's yearlings at the sales and he had a good record
with a solid rating average.
Second foal of unraced dam with sprint/miler pedigree.
Trainer had first 2yo runners in 2004 and was notable for uncompetitive
debuts and runners probably running too early. Has entered two 2yos for
this race.
In summary, pedigree looks reasonable but sales price negates the positives.
Likely to be well below best form on this early debut. Profile [25]

POST RACE |
For a 2.5k gns purchase, with a small trainer, who started at 50/1 and
finished near the back he's got a bit more about him than that.
He was a handful and 'masculine' but he has some build and carries himself
acceptably. Wouldn't be a surprise to see him gelded and if he where with
a better known 2yo trainer you would think they could get him competitive
at a low level.
Expected run in race and finished 8th at 33/1 but not adrift. Estimate

for Kempton 5f

Runs only 7 days after debut. A poor run but has some scope and would expect
some improvement here but not competitive.
In 2004 the trainer was notable for early debuts and runs with 2yos that
then improved much later in the season, including after a long break.

Led for 3f before a bad fade in a slow race. Trainer's better runner in
2004 developed in later season after being given a break from early runs.
